The Museum is closed for the season. We are happy to open the museum for personal tours as weather permits. To request a museum tour please email [email protected] or leave a message at 715-546-2295.

The Johnson House Restoration Project is well underway. The first phase is now complete. It included shoring up old timbers in the crawl space beneath the house to stabilize the structure. Some of the timbers, still with birch bark, were determined to be original to the house.

Stop by and take a look, the siding on the front and side facing the Library has been replaced. All of the windows, including the bay window in the front and all the windows on the porch, have been completely rebuilt with new trim and screens and painted the accent color, deep red. They look amazing! What a pleasure it is to see the Johnson House well on its way to a complete restoration.

Memberships: The Historical Society & Museum depends on your generous memberships and donations to fund new exhibits, projects, and programming. Memberships run from January to December. You can join or renew your 2025 membership online here, via mail at PO Box 250, or drop it off at the Museum Visitors Center in the Demmer Library.
