In Memoriam
The Three Lakes Historical Society is thankful for the lives and contributions to the mission of the Society for the following members of the Board of Directors who have died this past year.
Maryann McCloskey who worked many hours to update the cataloguing of the museum’s photo collections.
Tom Obenberger who in addition to performing needed maintenance on museum buildings, coordinated the work
to transform a storage building into what is now the Goldsworthy Exhibit Hall.
Helen Swain served as President of the Board and provided leadership for construction of the Gazebo and
Concerts in Park in Cy Williams Park; the initiation of the Fish Boil; and the acquisition of the log cabin used as the
museum’s School House.
Maureen McCain was the ubiquitous board member. Whether she was at the desk in Visitor Center greeting
museum visitors, guiding visitors through the Johnson House, washing the large pots and serving trays from the
Fish Boil, arranging for special donations for the Fish Boil and Wine and History Events, making and selling popcorn
for the concerts in the Park, stuffing envelopes and most importantly being a cheerleader for the Historical Society and affirming her co-board members, Maureen brought grace, energy and love to an organization she believed
was vital to Three Lakes.
These individuals can be remembered and celebrated through Memorial Gifts donations. Their family members
will be notified of memorial gifts. Suggestions for appropriate and significant memorial gifts are available
from the Society’s Director Susan Kelly Panian [email protected] or 715-546-2295
Memorials may be made in their name here or may be sent to the Three Lakes Historical Society, PO Box 250, Three Lakes, WI 54562.
